Investigators have laid additional charges against the driver of a car involved in a fatal crash in the Southern Tablelands last year. READ ALSO: Binda district collision leaves one dead, two injured Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) had been investigating a two-vehicle crash on Binda Road at Binda, 22km north of Crookwell, at 11:15am on December 7, 2019. NSW Police said a Toyota Landcruiser towing a trailer was driving north when a collision occurred with a Hyundai Accent, being driven in the same direction. 'A passenger in the Toyota, a 62-year-old woman from Flinders, died when the 4WD rolled, the driver, a 63-year-old man, suffered multiple injuries and was taken to Canberra Hospital in a serious condition,' they said. The Hyundai driver, 29-year-old Natasha Elizabeth Naughton, was taken to hospital for mandatory tests. Following further investigations, she was charged on August 12 with three additional offences: Naughton appeared before Goulburn Local Court on August 19. Just after 6am (Friday 20 November 2020), emergency services were called to the Newell Highway, near Mirrool – about 50km south of West Wyalong – following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District attended and were told a Pantech truck, travelling south and a Holden Astra, travelling north, had collided.

A passenger in the Holden, a 33-year-old woman, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.

A second female passenger was trapped before being released with the assistance of NSW Ambulance paramedics and Fire and Rescue NSW. She was airlifted to Canberra Hospital with internal injuries.

The Holden driver, a 29-year-old woman, was uninjured and taken to West Wyalong Hospital for mandatory testing.

The truck driver, a 36-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to Temora Hospital for mandatory testing before being arrested and taken to West Wyalong Police Station.

A crime scene was established with the Crash Investigation Unit investigating the circumstance surrounding the crash.
